Flu Season 2012-2013

Johnson County Community Health Services offers Flu Clinics, for adult and children's Seasonal Flu Immunizations. We will begin administration of flu vaccine at Johnson County Community Health Services facility starting Monday, August 20, 2012 and every Monday thereafter for Children.  Also for Adults starting on that same day, every Monday and Thursday following.  It's only while supplies lasts.  Don't wait till it's too late!!!

IMPORTANT:  Anyone under the age of 18 years old MUST HAVE a physician's order to receive the flu vaccine.

All Seasonal Flu vaccinations are subject to a $30.00 fee, unless you present your Medicare, Medicare HMO/Replacement plan, or Medicaid Card.  You can reference our schedule of fees by clicking here.

What Can I Do To Prevent Flu?

• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.
• Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
• If you are sick with flu–like illness, CDC recommends that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities. (Your fever should be gone without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.)
• While sick, limit contact with others as much as possible to keep from infecting them.
