All births and deaths that occur in Johnson County are recorded at the health department. The health department is the local registrar for all births and deaths that occur in Johnson County. Certified copies of birth certificates for a person born in the state of Missouri after 1920 or a death in the state after 1980 can be obtained at the health department.

Certified copies of a Birth Certificate are $15 each, and Death Certificates are $13.00 for the first certificate with additional copies $10.00 each. A picture identification is required for verification at time of pickup.
